The FirstSwing Foundation is dedicated and committed to providing quality instruction and "hands-on" interactive training for youth baseball/softball coaches and youngsters. The FirstSwing Clinics and Camps provide a thorough teaching of basic mechanics complemented with written materials. Each clinic, workout, etc. is designed and formatted according to the youngsters/players, league, team: all ages and abilities! The focus is upon FUNdamentals, FUN, and the concept that the game is for the youngsters!!! Moreover, it is our basic belief that sport(s) is a process and not an end in itself, and many of "life’s little lessons" are taught within the sports environment. Our instructors are professional teachers with extensive experience in education and sports/coaching.
Pre-Season Workouts/Clinics: Pre-season workouts begin in mid-January and continue through mid-April. These individual or team/group activities are designed to prepare young ball players for the coming baseball/softball season. The focus is on PREPARATION, CONDITIONING, and FUNDAMENTALS. Players are exposed to all aspects of the game, are taught the basic skill sets and mechanics, and are provided with suggested routines and practice plans. These workouts are held in Shoreline, Everett and Kirkland, but may also be at a facility of your choice. FirstSwing will custom build a workout or clinic in your area to fit your needs!
Tournaments:FirstSwing hosts youth baseball tournaments each year for teams 9U, 10U, 11U, and 12U. These are played at Phil Johnson(4 diamonds, turf infields) and are structured so that ALL players may participate. Everyone bats and there are five individual skill competitions for FUN and excitement. Tentative tournament dates: Memorial Weekend, two in late July(last two weekends), an Invitational in mid August, and “Last Licks” over Labor Day Weekend. These are open to ALL teams.
